What does the Dental Plus Plan cover?

The Dental Plus Plan covers the following:

  • Dental
  • Vision
  • Prescriptions
  • Chiropractic

Who can use the Dental Plus Plan?

The Dental Plus Plan covers everyone in your entire household. A household is defined as everyone who lives at a particular address.

What is the cost of the Dental Plus Plan?

The Dental Plus Plan costs you $24.95 per month. There is an additional, one-time, $20 registration fee for the first month that you have to pay when you sign up.

Enter either your zip code or your city and state. If you're looking to see if a specific provider is covered, you have the option of entering that provider's name (first name or last name). Once you've entered the information, hit the orange "Search" button.

Once you press the button and submit the search, there are several categories that are presented in the results, such as DENTAL, VISION, PRESCRIPTION, and CHIROPRACTIC. The DENTAL category may category contain several subcategories, such as "General Dentistry", etc. Click on a subcategory in order to see a list of dental providers. The fee schedule for each provider is also listed in the results.

The VISION category contains a list of providers for vision services. The list of providers includes national chains such as Pearle Vision, WalMart, LensCrafters, and Target, along with many local optical providers. Likewise the PRESCRIPTION category contains a list of pharmacies that includes national chains such as Walgreen's, WalMart, CVS, and RiteAid, along with many regional and local pharmacies. The CHIROPRACTIC category contains a list of chiropractic providers, as well as the fee schedule for each provider.

What is the cost of dental services using the Dental Plus Plan?

The cost of dental services depends on the color code of the provider's geographic location (it depends on where the provider is, not where you live). Please consult the map below (click on it to enlarge):

What are the costs of prescription drugs using the Dental Plus Plan?

You will be asked to select your plan for accurate pricing. Please select "AMERIPLAN client". Next, enter a pharmacy location (you also have the option of additionally entering a pharmacy name), and then hit the blue "Apply" button. Once you have hit the "Apply" button, a box for "Drug Name" shows up below the "Apply" button. Enter the name of the prescription drug that you are looking for in the box. As you type, matching results will begin to appear below. Once you select a drug, search results appear for the drug price from various providers. If you are dissatisfied with the drug prices, note that you can always click on the "Lower-cost options" box that is found next to the "Price this drug" box. The lower-cost options are usually generics that are much less expensive than the brand names.

How are services and prescriptions paid for?

The AmeriPlan discount is applied at the time of service. You pay the remaining amount (after the discount) at the time of service.

How do I sign up for the Dental Plus Plan?

Sign up for Dental Plus!

Click on the orange "Enroll Now" button that's underneath your selected plan. Once you do so, you will be prompted to enter your name, address (street, city, state, and zip code), e-mail address, phone number, birth date, and gender. These are all required fields. Once you have entered your information, you can click on the orange "Continue" button.

Next, you will come to a screen where you can review your plan choice and your personal member information. If you have other people in your household who you would like covered, click on the "Add Household" button. All members of your household are included in the monthly fee, so there is no additional cost to do this. Once you click on "Add Household", you will be brought to a screen where you add a household member's name, birth date, and gender. Once you have entered this information, click on the orange "Submit" button. After one household member's information has been submitted, click on the orange "Add Household" button if there are more household members to add, and repeat the process. When you're done adding household members, click on the "Click Here After All Household Members Are Added" link.

After you have finished adding household members, you will be brought back to the screen where you can review your plan choice, personal member information, and household member information. Make any changes if necessary. Remember to check the box that indicates you agree to the terms and conditions of the Member Agreement. Then, click on the orange "Secure Checkout" button.

You must pay with a credit card at the secure checkout. You will need to enter the card holder name, the card number, the expiration date (month and year), the zip code, and the CCV number (this is a 3-digit number on the back of your VISA, MasterCard, or Discover card, or a 4-digit number on the front of your American Express card). When all the information has been entered, you can click on the orange "Submit" button.
